Launch of the Mosaic Middle East Programme for Women’s Empowerment

On Tuesday 28 April 2026 the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security. in collaboration with Mosaic Middle East held an event to launch the Mosaic Middle East Programme for Women’s Empowerment.

Hosted in the Houses of Parliament, the event was chaired by Baroness Hodgson of Abinger CBE (Co-Chair of the APPG on Women, Peace and Security). A range of speakers provided insights including Bishop Guli of Chelmsford, Jomana Karadsheh (CNN Reporter and Association for International Broadcasting Journalist of the Year (2025)), and Professor Mariz Tadros DPhil (Director of Middle East People’s Culture Conversation Collective, Institute of Development Studies).

In fragile contexts where poverty, exclusion and insecurity intersect, women are often disproportionately affected, yet they are also central to resilience, social cohesion and peacebuilding.

The Mosaic Middle East Women’s Empowerment Programme translate that reality into measurable outcomes, aiming to see women affected by conflict and displacement equipped not only to rebuild their own lives, but to shape the social, economic and civic future of their communities.

The event was attended by academics, parliamentarians and policy advocates, church and faith leaders as well as institutional partners. It was an opportunity not only to announce the programme, but to discuss issues relating to Women, Peace and Security, share insights directly from the Middle East region and highlight the work being done by women in their communities globally.
