Women and Girls' Rights in Afghanistan

On Monday 19th July 2021, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS) hosted an event titled “Women and Girls’ Rights in Afghanistan”, chaired by Baroness Fiona Hodgson, Co-chair of the APPG-WPS, along with other Co-chair Flick Drummond who chaired the Q&A session.

This event allowed us to discuss and hear about the challenges that women and human rights defenders face in Afghanistan during this difficult time, as well as the devastating impact that the current situation is having on women and girls’ rights.

The event also explored the role of the international community and how the UK Government can support women and human rights activists moving forward.
