APPG-WPS Events.
The APPG-WPS holds meetings and events with civil society, INGOs, Parliamentarians and Governments.
Events by the APPG-WPS allow civil society, INGOs, Parliamentarians and Governments to have dialogue on Women, Peace and Security issues and open up access for collaborative efforts to eliminate gender inequality. Public events by the APPG-WPS are free to attend and there is always a Q&A section for the audience to ask questions.
An important event in the APPG-WPS calendar is the NAP Report to Parliament. At this annual event, the UK Government orally present their progress on the UK National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security to Parliament. This includes Ministers from the UK Departments who implement the UK NAP which is the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Ministry of Defence. GAPS will review this Annual Report and present its own Shadow Report, written by civil society. Civil society use this event to ask questions to the UK Government and give feedback on its progress on the NAP, read the report from the latest Report to Parliament here.
Events by the APPG-WPS are chaired by Baroness Fiona Hodgson of Abinger CBE, co-chair of the APPG-WPS.

Assessing UK Government Progress on Women, Peace and Security in 2023
On Tuesday 26th March, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS) and GAPS hosted the Oral Report to Parliament, “Assessing UK Government Progress on Women, Peace and Security in 2023”. The event, co-chaired by Baroness Fiona Hodgson and Julie Marson MP, provided an opportunity for dialogue between Government Officials, Parliamentarians and Civil Society on the implementation of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security, one year on.
How to engage men in advancing the women, peace and security agenda?
On Wednesday 20th March, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS) hosted a report launch event with GAPS, Concordis International and Sasakawa Peace Foundation titled “How to engage men in advancing the women, peace and security agenda?”. The event, chaired by Baroness Hodgson, co-chair of the APPG -WPS, focused on the gender dynamics after conflict in Ache, Maluku and Bangsamoro Mindanao. Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in Ukraine: Lessons from Bosnia
On Wednesday, February 7th, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security organised an event in collaboration with the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Prevention of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity titled “Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) in Ukraine: Lessons from Bosnia.”
Afghan Women’s Struggle under the Taliban
London: Women’s Regional Network (WRN), a network of women civil society leaders working together to advance women's rights and regional peace in Afghanistan, India and Pakistan, launched its reports developed on the feminist participatory research, Community Conversations titled ‘Afghan Women’s Struggle under the Taliban’ at the House of Lords, UK Parliament on 7 December 2023.

Hosting the UK Government’s 2022 Annual Report to Parliament
On Tuesday 25th April 2023, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS) hosted the UK Government’s 2022 oral Report to Parliament on the UK National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security with Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS). The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) presented their progress on the final year of the UK’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (UK NAP) 2018-2022.
