APPG-WPS Events.
The APPG-WPS holds meetings and events with civil society, INGOs, Parliamentarians and Governments.
Events by the APPG-WPS allow civil society, INGOs, Parliamentarians and Governments to have dialogue on Women, Peace and Security issues and open up access for collaborative efforts to eliminate gender inequality. Public events by the APPG-WPS are free to attend and there is always a Q&A section for the audience to ask questions.
An important event in the APPG-WPS calendar is the NAP Report to Parliament. At this annual event, the UK Government orally present their progress on the UK National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security to Parliament. This includes Ministers from the UK Departments who implement the UK NAP which is the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Ministry of Defence. GAPS will review this Annual Report and present its own Shadow Report, written by civil society. Civil society use this event to ask questions to the UK Government and give feedback on its progress on the NAP, read the report from the latest Report to Parliament here.
Events by the APPG-WPS are chaired by Baroness Fiona Hodgson of Abinger CBE, co-chair of the APPG-WPS.

Pillars for Peace: Women Parliamentarians and their role in Peace Processes
On Tuesday 14th June 2022, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace, and Security (APPG-WPS) hosted an event in collaboration with the LEAP4Peace consortium titled “Pillars for Peace: Women Parliamentarians and their role in peace processes”.
Women’s Voices at the Heart of Efforts for Peace - Focus on the Black Sea Region and East Europe
On 8th June the APPG on Women, Peace and Security (APPG WPS) hosted an event at the House of Lords in coordination with Embassy of Georgia and Women in Diplomacy Network London (WDN). The event gave an opportunity to hear views on women, peace and security from some of the women Ambassadors with a special focus on the Black Sea Region and East Europe.
WPS in the Philippines – Examining the Comprehensive Peace Agreement for the Bangsamoro
Baroness Fiona Hodgson introduced the event including the APPG. She welcomed the focus on the comprehensive peace agreement for Bansamoro particularly as the Philippines is not an area the APPG have looked at before, partly because it is not a focus country for the UK NAP 1325.
2022 Annual General Meeting
On Tuesday 26th April, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG-WPS) held its annual general meeting.

On 9th June 2021, the APPG held a joint event with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Goals to discuss the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.
Women's Participation in Peacebuilding in Yemen
